UK Dark Sky Map
This map, from the CFDS site, combines light pollution data with average cloud cover in the UK.
The more "orange" on the map represents more light pollution from urban areas. The brighter the colours, the more clear nights there are in that area over the course of a year.
Click the image to get SOHO's daily snapshot of the sun's activity showing any visible sunspots.
To avoid permanent blindness, please take care when viewing the sun to use the correct rejection filters or projection methods.
Click on the name from the list below to download a high quality PDF document for that constellation.
The Zodiac constellations are highlighted for easy reference. To view your birth sign constellation in the night's sky, look south at midnight six months from your birthday.
These maps are ideal for planning your night's astronomy.
These charts were produced as a joint collaboration between the International Astronomy Union (IAU) and Sky & Telescope magazine (Roger Sinnott & Rick Fienberg). Alan MacRobert's constellation patterns, drawn in green in the charts, were influenced by those of H. A. Rey but in many cases were adjusted to preserve earlier traditions.
